Gary Kemp

Gary was the songwriter of Spandau Ballet. With his friend, who was to become his manager, Steve Dagger, he formed the band from other guys in his high school.

Gary was the song writer in Spandau. Apart from the song "Motivator" which appeared on their final album "Heart Like A Sky", all the songs Spandau ever recorded and released were written by Gary.

In the mid 90s Gary wrote and recorded the stunning solo album "Little Bruises". A very personal album based around the traumas in his personal life at the time. Songs from that album are as much loved by fans as those he wrote for Spandau Ballet.

Today he is also an accomplished actor of stage and screen having made a number of quality films and appeared in the West End hit play "Art".
In 2004 his musical
"Bedbug" will be performed at venues around the country as part of the Shell Connections Festival.

A real talent and all round top bloke, without Gary Kemp, Spandau Ballet's music would not be part of our lives.
