House on Straw Hill

I recently received some background information on Martin Kemp's latest film project "The House On Straw Hill" from Beth White, the screenplay writer.
The movie starts shooting in summer 2006 in Norfolk.
The House on Straw Hill was originally made in the 70's, starring Udo Kier in the role of Paul Martin, an author. It had an emphasis on the style of eroticism that was popular at the time, and was notable for the sex scenes that got it banned in the UK. Our take on the remake is to concentrate more on the implied isolation and paranoia suffered by the main character as his past haunts him and to draw out a thrilling and tense cat and mouse chase as someone from that past comes for revenge. We have tried to develop Paul Martin's character, into someone who could be seen as a bad man, but is really acting out of his recent traumas. Now in the remake a well known film director, Paul's journey to The House on Straw Hill is about reclaiming his peace of mind and rebuilding his life. Unfortunately this leads to increasing danger for him and those he loves... danger that will make him realise just how much they do matter to him. Martin Kemp is perfect for this complex role and will bring a level of seductive badness to it. He is supported by a fantastic cast including Jane March, Patrick Bergin and Linda Hayden who starred in the original.
