Diamond Life
The release of Diamond continued the dance music theme. Chant Number One which was an ode to the band's favourite night spot "Le Beat Route" in Soho smashed into the Top Three. For this song they collaborated with members of Beggar & Co Gary and Steve returned the favour and played on their single Mule (Chant Number 2)
The band then achieved a level of infamy when their video for Paint Me Down was banned by the BBC. Although this generated a heap of publicity it would be impossible to pay for both Paint Me Down and She Loved Like Diamond failed to make a serious dent in the UK Charts.
It was time for a rethink.
They enlisted the help of
Trevor Horn to remix Instinction. Horn was the most talented  producer in the country at that time and had acheived glory by producing  ABC' s Lexicon of Love, one of the 80's classic albums.
Instinction fired them back up the chart and back into public affection.
They played some gigs around the country, still in quite exclusive venues like the Assembly Halls in Edinburgh, and after that it was time to hit the studio again. Off to Nassau they went to record an album which had the working title of "The Pleasure Project". Like the ABC album, what came out of these recording sessions ended up making the list in most of the classic albums books that adorn bookstores throughout the World.
